Proclamations

Each year, Meatout urges governors and mayors across the U.S. to support a healthy, plant-based diet by officially proclaiming March 20th as the Great American Meatout.

Please view the detailed listing of supporting governors and mayors since 1985, and a few sample proclamations below. The proclamations encourage residents to explore a wholesome, nonviolent diet of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. View the standard proclamation text (PDF).
