In this award-winning film, Eddie Lama explains how he feared and avoided animals for most of his life, until the love of a kitten opened his heart, inspiring him to rescue abandoned animals and bring his message of compassion to the streets of New York. With humor and sincerity, Eddie tells the story of his remarkable change in consciousness. The Los Angeles Times calls The Witness "the most important and persuasive film about animals ever made." Great opportunity to network with other animal advocates and vegetarians!

Features: Join MFA as we observe and promote The Great American Meatout at this tabling event on the UNC-Asheville campus. In addition to distributing literature promoting compassion to animals, eco-awareness and vibrant health, we will also be showing informative video as well as offering free vegan food samples to students. We will be set up just outside the UNCA cafeteria entrance, so we will be poised to reach a large lunchtime crowd.

Features: Kentucky Fried Chicken is the most recent target of an international campaign designed to draw attention to the horrific abuse of chickens at factory farms and in slaughterhouses and to pressure the fast food giant into eliminating some of the most egregious cruelties. Please join MFA as we unite in action with others across the country in observance of The Great American Meatout. We'll be promoting vegan compassion as we protest KFC's gross abuse of animals. We need your participation to let KFC and passersby know that we will not stand for such senseless abuse. Signs, banners, and leaflets will be provided.

Features: Mercy For Animals activists will host an information table at lunchtime at the entrance to the cafeteria located in Highsmith Center on the UNC-Asheville campus. We'll also be showing pro-veg videos at the table and encouraging students, professors and other passersby to take the Meatout Pledge and go vegan! We will be giving away free veggieburgers and vegan Tree Huggin' Treats candybars to students and others who stop at our table.

Features: On Sat March 15th, the Vegetarians in Pitt County will be tabling at eat smart movemore nutrition fair at the colonial mall. On Sun March 16th we will hold a public vegetarian potluck dinner from 5-7 pm at the unitarian universalist congregation. 131 Oakmont St in Greenville. After dinner will will discuss meat substitutes and show the videos: meet your meet, chew on this and the Great American Meatout. All are welcome.
