Information Table, Exhibit, Work Lunch, Lecture, Other Date/Time: All Day March 18th Location: Mars Academy
Features: A work in progress for a number of years, Mars Academy alas opened officially this month with its very first students. Mars Academy is a K-12 non-profit private school in the West San Fernando Valley. While students are not required to be vegan to attend, all food served at the school, (and all activities, lessons, and messages at this school), will always be strictly vegan, (just as the foods served at its summer affiliate, Camp Exploration, have been since 1994). What a perfect month for Mars Academy to celebrate its official opening, Meatout Month. Students will make a vegan feast together to celebrate the vast array of foods that vegans can fully enjoy, while respecting their health, the health of the animals, and the health of the Earth. The school may be Mars Academy, but it is here to take care of the Earth. www.MarsAcademy.org (aka www.VeganSchool.org) and www.CampExploration.org (aka www.VeganCamp.org) provide information for others wanting to get involved in these vegan programs in the future.
